A common question we are receiving is ‘are we covered if we suffer a side-effect from the Covid-19 vaccine?’
Seven of Australia’s largest life insurers are joining forces in support of Australia’s Covid-19 vaccine program. The insurers involved are:
- AIA Australia
- ClearView
- MetLife
- MLC Life Insurance
- Resolution Life (acquired AMP Life in July 2020)
- TAL
- Zurich
The insurers have come together through a campaign called ‘we have you covered’ to provide confidence to customers around receiving an approved Covid-19 vaccination.
The three key areas addressed in the campaign are:
- Receiving a vaccination against COVID-19 will not affect any claim you make on an existing life insurance policy now or in the future.
- Receiving a vaccination against COVID-19 will not affect any application you make to take out life insurance in the future.
- While serious side effects are rare, any that arise as a result of receiving an approved COVID-19 vaccine will be covered by your life insurance policy where they meet the terms and benefits of your policy.
